What is
Yin Yoga?

Yin yoga blends the traditions of Hatha Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Western Anatomy and Biomechanics to create a slow, still practice designed to partially quiet the nervous system and compassionately stretch the connective tissue, or fascia. Sequences composed of long passive holds of basic seated, supine and prone poses explore the mobility of the shoulders and hips and extensible of the hamstrings, while protecting the lower back, knees and feet. This truly customized practice is at its core self-guided, allowing the poses to unfold slowly at the student’s own pace and taking into account skeletal variations thru adaptations, shaping a space to cultivate awareness through observation of the natural breath and the reverberations of the poses.

For a limited time we offering the best online 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training. Students who complete this remote yin yoga training will receive 50 hours of CEUs.

ONLINE YIN YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

Foundations Yin Yoga Training (20 Hours)

This online yin yoga training weekend is designed to introduce the poses and philosophical background of yin yoga to students and teachers with all levels of yoga experience. Expect to flow gently and consciously through each class as we explore the history of yin yoga through postures and informal discussion. Throughout the weekend we will explore the continuum of yin yoga, from the first Friday evening master class, Intro to the 7 Archetypes, with its long introspective of the 7 different types of postures (archetypes) designed to illustrate the principles of a functional practice that is based in physiology and the student’s experience during the yoga practice.

As we move into day two, The Myofascia, which introduces meridian theory, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the organ of form (the myofascia) as we flow through long passive holds of basic poses interspersed with deep rebound and rest between postures. The second day ends with a focus into one specific archetype – Shoelace. This archetype and its variations will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced as a demonstration of the functional objective of yin yoga, as well as its versatility in serving students of all shapes.

On day 3 we’ll move to Exploring Skeletal Variations, where using basic anatomy we will co-create a customized practice designed to be deliberately focused and therapeutic. We’ll close off our weekend together with a fun dragon practice inspired by the founders of Yin Yoga: we’ll open our hearts, balance our breath, and ground our bodies with a deliberately therapeutic Yin/Yang practice. We will embody basic poses in a whole new way, compassionately opening the joints, connecting with the breath, and observing the process of our asana. Come immerse in your yin side and fall under the yin-fluence for two whole days or join us for both weekends of yin yoga training!
